Burn Cottage Moonlight Race Pinot Noir

Opkaldt efter et vandløb der løber lige igennem Burn Cottage Vineyard. Moonlight Race består af druer fra Burn Cottages biodynamiske vinmark, samt druer fra to andre marker i Central Otago som dyrkes økologisk, men som med hjælp fra Burn Cottage, er ved at blive omlagt til biodynamik. Ca. 15% hele drueklaser, gæret på det naturlige gær og ingen brug af SO2 før efter malolaktisk gæring. Lagret 12 måneder i franske egetræsfade - Mercurey, Damy og Billon. 20% nye. Ingen filtrering ved aftapning. Let reduktivt præg til at begynde med, men efter 4-5 minutter i glasset begynder at vinen at åbne op for nuancer af bl.a. muld, skovbær, hindbær, earl grey, asiatiske krydderier og ristede svampe. Smagen kræver også lidt tid for at samle sig - her er seriøs struktur til mange år i flasken. Helt ung og frisk, mørkerød frugt med mineralsk præg og lang rig sødmefuld frugt i eftersmagen. Vinen kræver modspil fra mad, f.eks. fjerkræ med svampe, stegt foie gras eller grillet svinekød. Vi anbefaler, at ilte vinen en times tid før servering ved 14-15 grader. 93 point & "Top 100 Wines of 2016", International Wine Report: The 2014 'Moonlight Race' Pinot Noir from Burn Cottage. This Pinot Noir incorporates a blend of sites: fruit produced on their own biodynamic farmed estate vineyard, along with 2 other vineyards in the Central Otago region. The wine spent 12 months in French Oak and was bottled unfiltered and offers gorgeous aromas of cherries and wild berries woven together with spices, floral with hints of blood orange and rosemary. On the palate this is beautifully textured with a round, silky mouthfeel and excellent overall balance and precision all the way through the spicy finish. This is a complete success from Burn Cottage and certainly a winery to keep an eye on."
